Exclusive: Rivers United Hoping To Agree Deal With Free Kick Expert Igbinoba
Published: November 15, 2016
According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Nigeria Professional Football League vice-champion Rivers United have opened contract talks with Eseosa Igbinoba, who represented Nasarawa United last season.
The free-kick expert wants to represent the club in the CAF Champions League before he makes the next leap in his career, which is to travel abroad to sign for a European club.
Representatives of Igbinoba have asked Rivers United to pay N3 million for the attacking midfielder to join the club on loan for the entire season, but the Port Harcourt-based side are struggling to meet that demand, having offered only N1 million.
Negotiations are on track as the parties seek an agreement, and the player had to travel to Port Harcourt on Monday in his bid to close the deal.
Eseosa Igbinoba is also attracting transfer interest from Swedish Allsvenskan side Kalmar and clubs based in Morocco and Turkey.
