British Passport Scuppers Efe Ambrose Move To Marseille
Published: December 22, 2016
Out-of-favour Nigeria international Efe Ambrose has rejected the opportunity to join Marseille plus teams in Germany and Belgium in the January transfer window.
Daily Mail reports that the Celtic defender is determined to fulfill the residency requirements to obtain a British passport, and must remain in the United Kingdom for a minimum of five years.
In the January transfer window, Ambrose turned down moves to Standard Liege (Belgium) and Schalke 04 (Germany).
It is claimed that Blackburn Rovers are among the teams in England interested in signing him on loan from the Scottish champions next month.
Efe Ambrose joined Celtic from Ashdod in the summer of 2012, and will leave Parkhead as a free agent in June if he doesn’t extend his contract.
