Published: December 23, 2016
Super Falcons of Nigeria have returned the African Women Championship (AWCON) trophy they won in Cameroun to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
According to Football Writers Association of Nigeria (FWAN), the release of the trophy shows that the ladies have the country at heart.
The FWAN boss disclosed, “I am really happy that the ladies listened to us when we urged them to honourably release the trophy to the country’s football ruling body, NFF.
“We are proud of them, we say a BIG thank you to them, they are worth emulating especially by other junior national teams. For them to release the trophy shows that they have respect for the country.
“Once again, on behalf of Nigerians and the NFF, we apologise for the embarrassment melted on them couple with the inconvenience they experienced before getting their money paid,” the pioneer chairman concluded.
