Nigeria & Australia Fight Over International Future Of Teen Sensation Princess Ibini-Isei
Published: December 24, 2016
The Nigeria Football Federation are set to miss out on the services of Sydney FC wonderkid Princess Ibini-Isei with the Football Federation Australia (FFA) set to fast track the talented striker into the senior setup, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
Born in Sydney, New South Wales 16 years ago to a Nigerian mom and dad, Ibini-Isei has caps for the Australian U17, U19 and U20 national teams.
She has a strong chance to push for her competitive debut for the senior team having first trained with the squad at the age of fifteen.
If Ibini-Isei pledges her international future to Matildas, her case won’t be the first and it won’t be the last, with the likes of Eniola Aluko (England), Rinsola Babajide (England), Eseosa Aigbogun (Switzerland) and Chioma Ubogagu (United States) currently playing for other nations.
Having said that, Super Falcons coach Florence Omagbemi has been sounded out about inviting her to the national team, and she is hoping to get approval from the eggheads at the Nigeria Football Federation early next year.
Her brother, Bernie Ibini-Isei, has two caps for Australia’s senior team.
