In the early kickoff, England youth-teamers Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo were missing from the Liverpool squad that suffered a shock 3-2 loss to Swansea City at Anfield.
Watford led twice but were held to a 2-2 draw by AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Italy international Stefano Okaka started and was involved for 62 minutes.
West Brom target Odion Ighalo only saw action for two minutes fueling speculation that he was rested to avoid him getting injured. Ex-Flying Eagle Isaac Success is still recovering from injury, the Cherries winger Jordon Ibe came off the bench with 16 minutes remaining.
Over to Selhurst Park, Ademola Lookman oozed confidence after he hopped off the bench in the 72nd minute, as Everton won for the fourth time in five matches, beating Crystal Palace 1-0.
England star Ross Barkley started and was replaced in injury time. The attacking midfielder was impressive.
Italy international Angelo Ogbonna worked a ninety minute shift at the heart of defense in West Ham’s 3-1 win at Middlesbrough.
Sunderland remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings after a 2-0 loss to Hal Robson-Kanu’s West Brom. On his first appearance in 2017, Victor Anichebe lasted 24 minutes, 21 minutes more than the Baggies number 4.
Black Cats wonderkids Joel Asoro and Josh Maja didn’t make the match day squad for this one.
