Bring Back Our Boys Campaign: Arsenal Linked Prodigy Set To Choose Nigeria Over USA, Netherlands
Published: June 06, 2017
Feyenoord Rotterdam young striker Lateef Omidiji Jnr has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will pledge his international future to Nigeria ahead of the Netherlands and United States.
With the United States Soccer Federation hot on the heels of the Arsenal linked prodigy, the Nigeria Football Federation had to send the Nigeria faithful a message, that they were interested in his services as well.
Responding to the NFF's public display of affection, Omidiji stated: ''Thank you for the acknowledgment- shows our commitment to youth football, our Nation is always in my heart.
''This will only spur me to work harder, get better and accomplish my goal of one day being the best player in the world.
''This Nigerian Federation and Amaju Pinnick are looking to the future and planning for it. Kudos to our administrators.''
Despite the pronouncement of Omidiji and the NFF, the United States have not thrown in the towel, and they believe they can convince him to represent the country because of their bigger resources and longer reach.
