ADO Den Haag's Ebuehi : Troost-Ekong Convinced Me To Choose Nigeria Over Netherlands
Published: June 06, 2017
Promising ADO Den Haag right wing-back Tyronne Ebuehi has revealed that Gent star William Troost-Ekong convinced him to represent Nigeria rather than the Netherlands, where he was born, and he has not regretted his decision.
Ex-Tottenham Hotspur youth-teamer Troost-Ekong had played for the Netherland youth-teams in friendly matches before pledging allegiance to the Super Eagles.
''The opportunity to play for Nigeria is a big step in my career. I am just 21 years old, I just started,'' Ebuehi told the Nigerian Federation.
''William is also an important one who helped me to come to Nigeria, he told me positive things about the team, the country.
''That's why I also made the decision to play for this country. For sure, one hundred percent, it is the best step for me to take.''
Ebuehi will be cap-tied to Nigeria if he is handed game time against South Africa on Saturday, June 10.
