Newcastle United Closing On Deal For Chelsea's Nigerian Hitman
Published: June 07, 2017
English Premier League new boys Newcastle United are closing on a deal for England U21 international of Nigerian descent Tammy Abraham.
Various reports in the United Kingdom suggest that the agreement will be in place before the Chelsea striker travels with the England squad for the European U21 Championship in Poland.
A season-long loan deal is being mooted, with the Magpies paying Chelsea a loan fee as well as a percentage of the player's wages.
The transfer of Abraham to St James' Park would have been completed before now, but Brighton & Hove attempted to throw a spanner in the works.
The 19-year-old impressed while on loan at Bristol City last season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions for the Robins which helped the club avoid relegation.
