Arsenal, Chelsea Linked Striker Henry Will Not Make Competitive Debut Against South Africa
Published: June 10, 2017
KAS Eupen frontman Henry Onyekuru will not make his competitive debut for Nigeria's senior national team against South Africa today at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The young striker has been left out of the 18-man squad, meaning he is expected to watch the game from the stands.
The players on the bench are Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Kenneth Omeruo, Tyronne Ebuehi, Mikel Agu, Ahmed Musa, Olanrewaju Kayode and Victor Osimhen, writes Score Nigeria.
Onyekuru was handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles get-together in Corsica and Paris because of uncertainty surrounding the availability of Kayode, but the Austria Vienna sensation eventually showed up in the French capital.
The 20-year-old has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham among others in the summer transfer window.
