Wolfsburg : Reports That Inter Milan Tabled Bid For Victor Osimhen Fabricated
Published: June 17, 2017
Wolfsburg have dismissed rumours in the Nigerian press that Italian Serie A club Inter Milan had tabled a bid for the services of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
In truth, the Nerazzurri had explored ways to sign the former Golden Eaglets sensation shortly after the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup, but never held talks with his bonafide representatives. That story is for another day.
Strange reports in Osimhen's homeland had claimed that Inter first made a bid for the young striker in the January transfer window, but Sporting Director of Wolfsburg Olaf Rebbe has inferred that the news were fabricated.
''Gustavo and Osimhen? , no one has contacted me yet,'' said Rebbe.
Osimhen became the first player born after the 1998 World Cup to play competitively for the senior national team when he came on as a second half substitute against South Africa a week ago.
