Watford 3 Liverpool 3: Nigerian Striker On Target, Salah Grabs Debut Goal, Solanke Benched
Published: August 12, 2017
Miguel Britos struck an injury time equalizer to salvage a point for Watford in their 3-3 draw with Liverpool at The Vic on Saturday afternoon.
Nigerian striker Stefano Okaka opened the scoring for the Hornets with a header in the eighth minute, only for another African in the shape of Sadio Mane to restore parity for the Reds just before the half-hour mark.
Having trailed 2-1 at the interval, Liverpool's Roberto Firmino made no mistake from the spot for the third successive game, including pre-season, and equalized nine minutes into the second half.
On his Premier League debut for the Anfield side, summer signing Mohamed Salah tapped in to make it 3-2 in the 57th minute, before the Uruguayan's equalizer in the third minute of added time.
Liverpool number 29 Dominic Solanke was an unused substitute, while Ovie Ejaria and Watford's Super Eagles striker Isaac Success did not make the match day squad.
