Monaco Striker Of Nigerian Descent, Linked With Premier League Giants, To Become Most Expensive Player
Published: August 13, 2017
Monaco striker of Nigerian descent Kylian Mbappe will become the most expensive player in the world when he completes his move to Paris Saint-Germain.
British newspaper The Times claims that the transfer fee Monaco will receive will exceed the record £200m PSG paid for Neymar less than a fortnight ago.
PSG will spend at least 203 million pounds to secure Mbappe's signature from Monaco, and that figure does not even include the wages (90 million euros) over the duration of his contract.
Monaco have demanded £173m for the France international and the total cost of the transfer will rise to at least £203m if performance-related bonuses are included.
All the top clubs in England, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, plus Barcelona and Real Madrid had explored the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe before he reached an agreement with PSG.
