Monaco Teen Sensation Of Nigerian Descent Spoke To Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City But.....
Published: August 15, 2017
High-level Premier League clubs failed in their attempt to sign Monaco teenage sensation of Nigerian descent Kylian Mbappé this summer.
According to French sports daily, L'Equipe Mbappe had talks with several coaches in Europe; Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp over a transfer before he agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain.
The talks with the Premier League coaches were held in May and June, shortly after his outstanding season where he contributed to 40 goals (26 goals, 14 assists) in 44 matches across all competitions.
To avoid breaking Financial Fair Play rules, PSG are planning to offload some of their top stars, which makes the deal bringing the 18-year-old to the Parc des Princes complicated.
Mbappe finished eight in the voting for UEFA Men's Player of the Year Award, the European football governing body announced on Tuesday.
