One-Time Arsenal Target Wanted By Chelsea To Replace Batshuayi
Published: August 22, 2017
Premier League champions Chelsea are still in the market for a striker despite the acquisition of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer.
According to various reports in the English press, including the Telegraph, Michy Batshuayi could be joining Lille for a transfer fee of 40 million euros before the close of the window.
Chelsea are considering making a bid for Leicester City main man Jamie Vardy in the event that the Belgian departs Stamford Bridge.
It remains to be seen if Lille will be successful in their approach to sign Batshuayi as he doesn't want to leave Chelsea even though he is behind Alvaro Morata in the pecking order.
Jamie Vardy is contracted to Leicester City until the summer of 2020, and was heavily courted by Arsenal in 2016.
