Chelsea Gunning For Arsenal Winger, Set To Raise Offer To N16.5 Billion
Published: August 22, 2017
Chelsea remain in the hunt for the highly-rated Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports.
The Mirror claims the Premier League champions are readying a fresh offer of 35 million pounds (around N16.5 billion) to lure the Arsenal number 15 to Stamford Bridge before the close of the transfer window.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is determined to leave Arsenal despite the London club offering him an improved contract.
The Gunners offered him a four-year contract, with weekly wages estimated at £125,000, but this has not convinced the former Southampton wonderkid to extend his stay at the Emirates beyond the summer of 2018.
Despite the contract imbroglio, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still in the plans of manager Arsene Wenger, with the Frenchman starting him in the first two matches in the Premier League and the Community Shield.
