Arsenal Reignite Interest In The New Xavi After Failed Move To Barcelona
Published: August 26, 2017
Premier League club Arsenal have reignited their interest in Ivory Coast international Jean Michaël Seri, as per reports.
According to Football.London, Barcelona were said to be interested in a move for Seri, but have since dropped their interest in the 26-year-old, leaving the door open for Arsenal to swoop.
The Grand-Béréby-born midfielder has been left out of OGC Nice squad for the Ligue 1 game at Amiens SC because he is not in the right frame of mind after his proposed transfer to Barcelona fell through.
The 26-year-old Seri has a release clause of 40 million euros but OGC Nice added €10 million on top of that, which discouraged The Blaugrana higher-ups from going ahead with the transfer.
Seri, who has been linked with Liverpool this summer, has drawn comparisons to Barcelona legend Xavi.
