Man Utd Nigerian Defender, Dubbed The New Dani Alves, Gives Update On Injury
Published: October 19, 2017
Manchester United's Nigerian right back Matthew Olosunde says he is making progress in his bid to return to fitness.
Sunday will make it one month that the defender has not featured for the Red Devils U23 squad after he sustained a serious injury towards the end of the first half against Derby County in a Premier League 2 encounter.
Olosunde has not provided an exact date when he will return to action but hopes to be back as soon as possible.
''Olosunde's injury was against Derby County, he got taken off on a stretcher,'' @newmanutdnews told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''It looked like a lower leg injury. Spoke to him and he said he hopes to be back soon.''
Prior to Olosunde's spell on the sidelines, he had started all the matches played by Manchester United in Premier League 2 so far this season, logging 495 minutes.
Dubbed the new Dani Alves, the 19-year-old trained with United's first team last term and Mourinho included him in his provisional squad for Premier League matches against Tottenham and Arsenal.
He extended his contract with Manchester United in the summer of 2017.
