Chelsea Continue Running The Rule Over Victor Adeboyejo
Published: October 22, 2017
Premier League champions Chelsea are still running the rule over Nigerian striker Victor Adeboyejo, with a view to offering him a contract in the coming days.
The free agent has already played a competitive game for the Blues U23 squad, against Swansea City in the Premier League 2 nine days ago, and manager Joe Edwards will watch him again at close quarters in today's clash versus West Ham at Electrical Services Stadium, Aldershot.
Adeboyejo arrived Chelsea with a reputation as one of the most promising strikers in the reserve leagues in England this season, having netted four goals while testing with Barnsley.
It is envisaged that the Blues will loan him out to a League One or Two club if he is offered a contract as his quality is significantly higher than his peers.
He spent time on loan at Royston Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Heybridge Swifts, Dulwich Hamlet, Soham Town Rangers and Margate while on the books of Leyton Orient.
The Ibadan-born attacker previously turned out for the academy teams of Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic.
Chelsea U23 Starting XI : Chelsea: Cumming, James, Sterling, Colley, Grant, Chalobah, St Clair, Sammut, Adeboyejo, Maddox, Muheim.
West Ham U23 Starting XI : Trott, Johnson, Neufville, Coventry, Rice (c), Pask, Quina, Haksabanovic, Martínez, Kemp, Holland
