Super Eagles Assistant Captain Chima Akas Invited To Trial With Kalmar FF
Published: November 16, 2017
Swedish Allsvenskan club Kalmar FF have handed a trial to the assistant captain of the home-based Super Eagles Chima Akas, ahead of a possible move in the January transfer window.
Akas, who wore the jersey of Enyimba last season, will begin showing off to Kalmar coaches at the end of November.
''He's a left back / left winger that is included in Super Eagles for some games,'' sports director Thomas Andersson-Borstam said to Kalmar's official website.
''He comes to know the club at the end of November, so we get the opportunity to get to know him and alongside the plan.
''The idea is that he stays for a week. Then we will see what it leads to.''
Swedish-Nigerian striker Abiola Dauda played for Kalmar for four years before switching to Red Star Belgrade in 2012.
Chima Akas cannot represent the home-based Super Eagles in January's 2018 African Nations Championship if he's offered a contract by Kalmar.
