Manchester United Extend Contract Of One Of Their Top Stars
Published: November 21, 2017
Manchester United have triggered the one-year option on the contract of England international Ashley Young, as per reports.
According to The Sun, manager Jose Mourinho has handed the versatile 32-year-old a 12-month extension to his current deal worth £6million to keep him at the club until 2019.
Young, who joined United from Aston Villa in the summer of 2011, penned his last contract extension with the Old Trafford outfit in August 2015, with an option to extend for a further year inserted into the agreement, which has been activated.
The fullback would have been able to talk to interested clubs as from the January transfer window if his contract was not extended by Manchester United.
Stoke City and Chinese Super League clubs had been monitoring the situation of Young, with a view to a transfer.
He has played over 170 matches for Manchester United across all competitions.
