Official : Real Salt Lake Take Up Option To Extend Sunday Stephen's Contract
Published: November 29, 2017
With a statement on their official website, Major League Soccer outfit Real Salt Lake have announced that they have extended the contract of Nigeria international Sunday Stephen.
''The club picked up the options of defender David Horst and midfielders Luke Mulholland, Sunny and Sebastian Saucedo,'' wrote Real Salt Lake.
Allnigeriasoccer.com broke the news last month that Real Salt Lake were happy to take Sunday Stephen's option for 2018, and this information has now been confirmed by the Western Conference team.
The former Spain U20 international is one of the six midfielders on RSL's active roster ahead of the resumption of pre-season training.
He made 21 appearances in the MLS in the just concluded season, logging 1,494 minutes and notched an assist against Vancouver Whitecaps in September.
Sunny turned out for clubs in Spain, Bulgaria, Israel and Turkey prior to his switch to Real Salt Lake in January 2016.
