Chelsea Ace Victor Moses Named Among Top 100 Players In The World
Published: December 08, 2017
Super Eagles dazzler Victor Moses has been named among the top 100 footballers in the world by influential United States-based satellite sports television channel ESPN, and is the only Nigerian player that made the prestigious list.
2017 has been a banner year for Moses as he helped Chelsea win the Premier League title, qualify for the final of the Emirates FA Cup, the last sixteen of the Champions League and was one of the key players as Nigeria qualified for their sixth World Cup.
On a personal level Moses, who was selected among the top ten right backs in the world, is in the running for both the CAF and BBC African Footballer of the Year.
''There were raised eyebrows aplenty when Victor Moses signed a new contract with Chelsea in 2015 shortly before setting off for a season loan with West Ham. After all, he'd spent the past two seasons on loan at Liverpool and Stoke,'' ESPN wrote.
''It was like watching a nice saloon car sign away the best mileage of its life to an airport hire firm but when Antonio Conte arrived, he saw things he liked. Pace. Stamina. Courage. Versatility.
''And when he switched to a back three, Moses came into the team as a wing-back and never came out again. He signed another contract in March, 2017. This time, it felt right. ''
The 26-year-old Victor Moses is valued at £30 million ( approximately N14.28 billion).
