Standard Liege's Uche Yet To Receive Nigeria Call-Up For Poland, Serbia Friendlies
Published: February 18, 2018
It has become more clear that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr plans to name a couple of new faces in his squad list for next month's pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Standard Liege defensive midfielder Uche Agbo is the latest player that has not been contacted by the Nigerian Federation over his invitation for the friendlies in Europe.
The former Granada and Watford man was a non-playing substitute in the Super Eagles last six matches in 2017, having made his debut against Togo last summer.
Whilst it is being claimed that the Nigerian Federation are sending out these invitations piecemeal as they have not finalized the list, what doesn't add up is that it will take the players 15-30 days to complete the entire process of obtaining visas to the United Kingdom.
Hapoel Beer Sheva striker Anthony Nwakaeme is among the players waiting for positive news from the Nigerian Federation.
His teammate John Ogu, Porto loanee Chidozie Awaziem, Las Palmas's Oghenekaro Etebo and Chippa United's Daniel Akpeyi have been summoned for the games against Poland and Serbia.
