Moses Outshines Kante, Alonso, Pique & Busquets In Defensive Stats; Second Best Player Both Teams
Published: February 21, 2018
With Chelsea forced to a 1-1 draw by Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, it means the Premier League champions preserved their record of never losing a game Victor Moses started in the competition.
A number of key defensive statistics expressed Moses's impressive performance for Chelsea against the Spanish powerhouse.
Of the 26 players that were in action at Stamford Bridge, the Nigeria international had the second best defensive figures cumulatively, behind César Azpilicueta who tallied in total ten blocks, tackles and interceptions.
Moses made five tackles to place second in that category behind the top man on both teams, Barcelona's Sergio Busquets; the Super Eagle made three clearances and one block.
Chelsea's key man in midfield N'Golo Kanté finished the game with one tackle, four interceptions and one clearance.
Offensively, Moses had two shots of which none was on target, and made one key pass.
The Nigeria Player of the Year was not precise in his passing, with a passing accuracy of 52.4 percent, the worst among the outfield players on both teams.
