Man Utd Defender To Be Recalled To Argentina Squad Ahead Of World Cup, Everton's Mori Too
Published: February 23, 2018
Manchester United star Marcos Rojo is set to be recalled to the Argentina squad for next month's friendlies, according to well informed sources in his homeland.
TyC Sports has reported that the central defender and Everton's Funes Mori will be summoned for the games against Italy and Spain, while there's a possibility Ajax Amsterdam full back Nicolás Tagliafico will be invited.
Both Rojo and Mori were not in the Argentine squad that were disgraced by the Super Eagles in a pre-World Cup friendly in November 2017 as they were recovering from injuries.
The Red Devils number five has faced the Nigerian national team twice in his international career, a friendly in 2011 and at the 2014 World Cup.
On the other hand, Funes Mori would be hoping to play his first game against the Super Eagles at the Russia 2018 World Cup if selected.
Meanwhile, La Albiceleste coach Jorge Sampaoli is set to appoint former Valencia man Pablo Aimar as an advisor to the national team, the attacking midfielder played against Nigeria at the 2002 World Cup.
