Nigerian Exports: Goals For Gold, Shola Ameobi, Asoro, Okenabirhie, Daniel Udoh & Odubade

A round-up of Nigerian players who scored for their respective English clubs in league matches on Saturday, February 24th.

Joel Asoro showed off his goalscoring qualities at the Stadium of Light, combining with Joshua Maja to open the floodgates after 11 minutes in their 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough in the English Championship.

The 18-year old striker received a beautiful flick from strike partner, Maja to plant a sensational strike into the top right corner.

Elsewhere, Nigerian international, Shola Ameobi was on target for Notts County in their 2-0 win over Stevenage in a League Two clash.

Ameobi blasted in from close range after Ben Hall have teed him in the 80th minute to ensure victory for County.

A league lower, Dagenham and Redbridge's Fejiri Okenabirhie put Chester FC to the sword with his brace in their comeback 3-2 win in the National League.

Matt Robinson picked out the 21-year old striker on the edge of the box for the opener after 11 minutes before teeing him up again for his second in the 85th minute.

In the National League North, former Golden Eaglets invitee Daniel Udoh's 50th minute goal proved to be the winner  as Leamington beat Blyth Spartans 1-0.

In the National League South, Yemi Odubade's Eastbourne Borough lost 2-1 to Weston Super Mare with the Nigerian striker opening the scoring after 32 minutes.

Finally, Gold Omotayo's goal for Whitehawk against Gloucester City was the fastest scored by a Nigerian player in the top six divisions in England this weekend. The Zurich-born striker netted in the third minute as his team were held to a 1-1 draw.
