Peter Utaka: Vejle Boldklub Were Not The Only Club That Wanted Me
Published: February 26, 2018
Out-of-favour Nigeria international Peter Utaka has revealed so many teams were interested in his signature before he agreed terms with Danish Superliga promotion candidates Vejle Boldklub.
The striker spent three and a half seasons in the Danish top-flight with OB before moving to China, then Japan, but he suddenly returned to Denmark in early February to train with Vejle Boldklub before signing a short-term deal.
Speaking to bold.dk, Utaka said : ''There were more options and I had more offers at hand, but I thought this was the best at the moment, so I chose to take that.
"Firstly, the team looked good and there are ambitions to come to the Superliga. I'm always ready for a challenge, and I think it was a good step for me.
''I already know some people in the club and it was great to see Schoop and Mads and the other players. Denmark is not new to me, and it's really good to be back.''
Peter Utaka scored 69 goals in 139 matches for OB prior to his transfer to Dalian Aerbin.
