Dele Alampasu: Seen As One Of The Brightest Young GKs In The World, But So Much To Learn

Five years after helping the Golden Eaglets lift the FIFA U17 World Cup, Alampasu has failed to stake a claim both at the national and club level.
Seen by many as one of the brightest in his position, he seems to be falling down the pecking order in his position.
It is often said that goalkeepers only get better with age in most cases, it is also noteworthy that Francis Uzoho was his deputy at the same tournament, while Uzoho is being seen as a World Cup invitee same can not be said for Alampasu.
Not to take away his goalkeeping abilities, it has safe to say he still has a lot to learn, at an age just over 21, maybe we are asking for too much, maybe he took his foot off the pedal either way a drastic change in his learning curve will do him a lot of good.
We've never had an issue of producing goalkeepers, producing goalkeepers that keep performing at a consistent level has always being the problem, with Ezenwa supposedly the first choice at the moment and Akpeyi not has reliable as we would have wanted perhaps it's high time we brought out the young guns in Uzoho and Alampasu… after all it is often said, 'if they are good enough, age is just a number'.
While it can be said that Uzoho has really learnt a lot since the 2013 U17 World Cup, I am afraid the same can not be said about Alampasu.
Although, many would say Uzoho is only playing in the third division, they should also know that the most important thing for a goalkeeper of his age is regular game time which is something Alampasu lacks at the moment.
Whether this is the case or not, we all want to see him compete and succeed at the very top.
