Chelsea & Arsenal Target Omidiji Training At PSG, USSF Assign Mentor Christian Pulsic To Him
Published: March 09, 2018
According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com's editorial staff, Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to snatch the highly-rated Nigerian striker Lateef Omidiji from under the noses of Arsenal.
It is understood that representatives of the Feyenoord wonderkid have reached an agreement in principle with the Gunners, stipulating that he will join the Emirates outfit after he celebrates his sixteenth birthday.
Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation of Omidiji, with a view to signing him in future.
However, PSG are aiming to steal a march on their rivals and the player has been training with their youth team for the past one week, and they hope he'll change his mind about joining Arsenal.
Meanwhile, the United States Soccer Federation are confident they are in pole position for the services of the American-born starlet ahead of the Dutch and Nigerian Federations.
The 14-year-old has only attended one United States youth team get-together from a possible fifteen he was invited for, though USSF are in constant communication with his club, family and grand parents in Las Vegas.
USSF have assigned a mentor, Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulsic, to him and the 2017 U.S. Soccer Male Player of the Year calls Omidiji regularly to make sure he is doing okay.
Last November, Lateef Omidiji received a call-up from the USSF for the U17 Nike invitational in Florida where he had a chance to play against Brazil, England and Netherlands U17s but he declined the invitation.
