John Ogu Hopes For Positive News From Embassy Before Joining Super Eagles Camp
Published: March 18, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder John Ogu might be excused from the Super Eagles first training session on Monday, ahead of the international friendly against Poland.
The Nigeria Football Federation informed the 28 invited players via email that they have to report at Wroclaw latest Monday 19th March, 2018 by 1300 hours as training will commence same day.
But Ogu cannot meet up with that deadline as he did not get a favourable response from the Embassy, where he had applied for a visa, as at the end of last week.
If all goes well, he will collect the traveling document from the embassy on Monday morning and hopes to link up with his international teammates at Radisson Hotel Wroclaw late tomorrow evening.
Ogu was one of the five Super Eagles stars that played the entirety of Nigeria's 4-2 win over Argentina in their final game of 2017, the others being Wilfred Ndidi, Obi Mikel, Chidozie Awaziem and William Troost-Ekong.
He was on target against Algeria in the national team's last World Cup qualifier, the game was later forfeited as Nigeria had used an ineligible player.
