Onazi And Mikel Agu Picked In Turkish Super Lig Team Of The Week
Published: March 20, 2018
Two Super Eagles midfielders in the shape of Eddy Onazi and Mikel Agu have been selected for the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week on the back of their imperious displays for their clubs this past weekend.
Whoscored.com has named the duo in its weekly team of the week for the matches that took place 16-18 March, 2018, and only the best performing player for each position has been selected.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Trabzonspor's Onazi and Bursaspor's Agu were the two central midfielders.
Onazi netted his second league goal of the season in Trabzonspor's 4-1 rout of Azubuike Okechukwu's Yeni Malatyaspor, while Mikel Agu was also impressive in Bursaspor's 1-0 win over Sivasspor, finishing the match with a game-high six aerial duels won.
The Porto loanee was also the top man in interceptions and tackles, with ten and three in the two categories respectively.
Onazi had a rating of 8.46 while Mikel was awarded 8.74 marks.
Onazi has yet to report for international duty as at the time of this report, while Mikel Agu was left of the Super Eagles 28-man roster by Gernot Rohr.
