Nigeria Target Jordan Torunarigha Sends Reply To Rohr Over 2018 World Cup Offer
Published: March 22, 2018
Nigeria Football Federation target Jordan Torunarigha has pledged his allegiance to Germany, and has turned down the chance to represent Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup.
According to Berliner Kurier Hertha center-back Jordan Torunarigha wants to prove himself at the DFB, and has resisted the lure of a World Cup participation in the summer.
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr recently approached the defender and his representative but it appears that all his efforts ended in futility with the recent decision taken by the highly-rated 20-year-old.
The Chemnitz native is being tipped to make his international debut for Germany U21s in their 2019 European U21 Championship qualifier against Israel on Thursday evening.
The left-footed central defender is hoping to impress Germany U21s manager Stefan Kuntz as he takes his first steps towards achieving his aim of representing Germany's senior team.
Patrick Owomoyela, Sidney Sam and Dennis Aogo chose to represent Germany's senior team despite being approached by Nigeria, so Jordan Torunarigha won't be the first.
