Published: March 22, 2018
Manchester United's Nigerian fans have reacted to the departure of Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the club with immediate effect.
According to ESPN and several English media , Ibrahimovic, who had his United contract terminated by mutual consent, has agreed to join Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles Galaxy on a two-year deal and the transfer will be completed in the coming days.
In 53 games for the Old Trafford outfit, the Swede netted 29 goals, provided 10 assists, and won three trophies Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League.
The Red Devils fans based in Nigeria were saddened by the news and here are some of the best tweets :
@highbeebabs : ''I am saddened by this news, Ibrahimoviç is one of a kind player, a really special one, he was just unlucky to have played in this cr7/Messi era L. They stood between him and the ballon d'or, best of luck in all your future endeavors, we will miss you at united #ZlatanIbrahimoviç''
@kvng_adel : ''Old Trafford will miss Ibrahimovic #MUFC''
@Ali_McHenri : ''This Zlatan Ibrahimovic's switch to MLS ehn. I'm just low key waiting for what he has to say about Manchester United & Mourinho when he moves. Whether positive or negative, I'm waiting for whatever he has to say. 😁''
@kvng_adel : ''Amazing we've had Van persie, Falcao and Ibrahimovic in the last few years #MUFC''
@Nedujizzy : ''The Lion is the King of the jungle, Ibra personified greatness during his time at @ManUtd, wishing him good luck in his future endeavours. #Ibrahimovic #RedArmy #United''
@CleanThing_ : ''So, Ibrahimovic left England without conquering it? Not my player.''
