Ex-Watford Star Ighalo : We Are Not Going To Underrate England, They Have A Fantastic Team
Published: March 28, 2018
Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo has stressed that the Super Eagles will not underrate the England team when both countries clash in a pre-World Cup friendly on June 2, 2018.
While the Three Lions remained undefeated during the international break this month, beating the Netherlands and drawing with Italy, the Super Eagles' performance was a mixed bag after they were defeated 2-0 by Serbia last night.
''In football anything can happen, it doesn't matter the kind of support you have. If you don't work well in the field of play you are going to lose,'' Ighalo told ExtraTimeSoccerLive.
''England have a very good and fantastic team, we are not going to underrate them. We have a good team too, but at the end of that day it will be eleven players against eleven players on the pitch.
''I am looking forward to that game because I have played in the Premier League before and I'll like to see some familiar players on the pitch again.''
Ighalo spent two and a half seasons at Watford, scoring 40 goals (10 assists) in 100 appearances, before transferring to Chinese club Changchun Yatai in January 2017.
