Super Eagles World Cup Star In Talks With AC Milan Over Transfer Of Striker
Published: May 07, 2018
French Ligue 1 outfit Monaco have already started preparations for the summer transfer window and former Super Eagles World Cup star Michael Emenalo is expected to play a key role in negotiations.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Chelsea chief held talks with AC Milan director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli and agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the future of André Silva.
Emenalo watched the Champions League game between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich last Tuesday and was spotted with Mirabelli and Mendes in one of the stadium terraces rented to the influential agent, who manages the Portugal international.
Silva joined Milan on a five-year deal from Porto in June 2017 but has struggled to impress in the Serie A, netting 2 goals in 23 appearances, but did far better in Europe with 8 goals in 14 matches in the Europa League, including the qualifying rounds.
The Rossoneri have been linked with a move for Monaco winger Keita Balde and the Senegal international could move in the opposite direction as part of the transfer of Silva.
Monaco appointed Michael Emenalo to the role of Sporting Director in November 2017 and he is responsible for all sporting matters including the recruitment of players.
