Official : Manchester City Beat Tottenham To Signature Of Nigerian Defender

Promising Nigerian defender Timi Sobowale has completed his transfer to Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Villa FC product was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, having played for their U16s in a tournament in the Netherlands but City have won the race for his signature.
Manchester City had extensively scouted Sobowale before handing him a contract, he was monitored by the Citizens when the Republic of Ireland U15 national team faced Netherlands in a friendly back in February 2017.
Ahead of the 2018-2019 season, Manchester City's official website spoke to Timi Sobowale to find out more about him.
''I was born in Dundalk in Ireland. I grew up firstly in Dublin and then moved to Waterford,'' he said.
Asked how long he has been at City and his best mate, Sobowale stated : ''I’ve just started so this is my first season. The rest of the guys have helped to make me feel really welcome. Everyone has been great. ''
Timi Sobowale will play for Manchester City's U18 team in the 2018-2019 season, he models his game after Belgium star Vincent Kompany.
