French Club Bordeaux 'Follow' 20-Goal Striker Adeleke Akinyemi To Liepāja
Published: August 04, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that in-form Nigerian striker Adeleke Akinyemi is attracting huge interest from French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
Akinyemi, who doesn't turn 20 until next Saturday, was on target for Ventspils in their 2-1 loss to Bordeaux in the second qualifying round of the Europa League on August 2.
Shortly after the meeting at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique, Bordeaux held talks over the signing of the teenager and it was agreed that they will continue to monitor him before making a final decision.
A representative from Bordeaux will be present at the Stadions Daugava (Liepāja) for Ventspils's Cup clash with Liepāja on Monday, August 6 and he has been instructed to run the rule over Akinyemi.
The likes of Altach, Brondby, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Freiburg watched him live and direct score his 20th goal of the season in all competitions two days ago.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is considering inviting Akinyemi to the national team for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.
