Super Eagle Uzoho To Compete With GK Twice His Age For Starting Spot, Elche Coach To Decide
Deportivo de La Coruña goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Elche CF, with the  Segunda División team presenting him as their new player on Wednesday afternoon following a successful medical.

This morning, the teenage Nigeria international trained for the first time with his new teammates ahead of their next domestic fixture in the league against Reus Deportiu this coming Saturday.

In his first words as an Elche player, Uzoho said : ''They told me they were very interested in me and that was all I needed to know. I'm happy to come to Elche.''

Uzoho will compete with the 39-year-old Spanish goalkeeper José Juan Figueras for a starting spot at Elche and the Super Eagle has admitted that he's still learning his trade.

''He is a very good goalkeeper who has a lot of experience; I'm sure I'll learn a lot from him,'' said the 19-year-old Nigerian.

He added : ''I have signed for Elche to compete and for the coach to decide when and who has to play''.

Last season, Uzoho appeared twice in La Liga, posting a shutout on his debut against SD Eibar, and was not beaten in 15 matches for RC Deportivo Fabril in the third tier of Spanish football.
