EPL Wrap: Billing Nets First Goal; Moses & Solanke Ignored Again; Balogun Bench; Ibe & Lookman Subbed InA round-up of Nigerian players that were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Saturday, 1st September.

Nigerian players with dual nationalities and have played competitively for the senior national teams of other countries have been omitted.

In the early kick off at the King Power Stadium, Leicester City fell to a narrow 2-1 loss to Liverpool, thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino while Foxes new signing, Rachid Ghezzal got a consolatory effort for his side.

Super Eagles man, Wilfred Ndidi who received a 90th minute booking was on from start to finish for Leicester City while his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho came on for Marc Albrighton a minute shy of the hour mark.

Striker Dominic Solanke was not in the squad for Liverpool.

Elsewhere at the Amex Stadium, Glen Murray's double helped Brighton battle back to a 2-2 draw with Fulham after Andre Schurrle and Alexandre Mitrovic had got the visitors into the lead.

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was named among the substitutes for The Seagulls and was not utilised through out the encounter.

Over to Stamford Bridge where Chelsea beat Bournemouth 2-0 with goals coming from Pedro Ledesma and Eden Hazard in a second half late show.

Victor Moses was not listed in the Blues squad for the second successive game while Jordon Ibe replaced Adam Smith in the 80th minute.

Flying Eagles midfielder Nnamdi Oforboh did not travel with the Cherries.

At Goodison Park, Danish-born player of Nigerian descent Philip Billing was on target for Huddersfield Town in a 1-1 draw with Everton, his first goal in the English Premier League.

The towering midfielder who went the full distance of the encounter headed home from a corner to give The Terriers the lead after 34 minutes though Calvert Lewin struck back two minutes later to make sure of a share of the spoils.

A player who is being courted by the NFF, Ademola Lookman entered the fray for Everton in the 57th minute when he replaced Theo Walcott.

Over to the London Stadium where Adama Traore struck the solitary goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 1-0 win over West Ham.

Finally in the late encounter at the Etihad Stadium, youngsters Tom Dele-Bashiru and Nathanael Ogbeta are not considered for action by Manchester City who face off against Newcastle.
