Chidozie Awaziem Allays Injury Fears Ahead Of Friendly Vs Liberia
Allnigeriasocer.com has been informed that Porto defender Chidozie Awaziem has declared himself fit for the upcoming international friendly against Liberia on Tuesday, September 11.

The 21-year-old was forced off injured in the 73rd minute against Seychelles on Saturday and it has come to light that his substitution was precautionary as he has been cleared by Super Eagles medics.

Awaziem has received the green light from manager Gernot Rohr to play against Liberia, with the German naming him in an 18-man squad announced on Sunday.

Everything appeared to be going smoothly for the 'emergency' right-back against the Pirates, he was in the right place at the right time to tap in a rebound after Kelechi Iheanacho's free-kick struck the post in the 35th minute.

Gernot Rohr has called up two home-based defenders, Adeleye Olamilekan (FC Ifeanyi Ubah) and Ebube Duru (Lobi Stars) to join the team for the friendly against the Lone Stars after Kenneth Omeruo and Leon Balogun were permitted to return to their clubs.

Awaziem went the distance in his previous four appearances for the Super Eagles against Togo, South Africa, Argentina and Serbia prior to the AFCON tie vs Seychelles.
