U17 AFCON Qualifiers: Man Of The Match Nigeria Vs Republic Of Niger Revealed
Published: September 13, 2018The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that Golden Eaglets striker Olakunle Olusegun Junior picked up the Man of the Match award in the national team's 2-1 win over Republic of Niger in the semifinals of the ongoing WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifiers for the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations
Olusegun is currently the leading scorer in the WAFU-UFOA Zone B qualifiers with four goals, including his strike in yesterday's win over Republic of Niger.
Arsenal-linked Akinkunmi Amoo was honored with the title of Man of the Match for his individual display against Ivory Coast exactly a week ago.
Olusegun scored twice in Nigeria's 3-2 loss to Burkina Faso and also played a key part in the comprehensive 5-1 win against the Baby Elephants, scoring in the 23rd minute to make it 3-0.
The Golden Eaglets will do battle with perennial rivals Ghana in Saturday's showpiece, with the winner guaranteed a spot in next year's U17 AFCON in Tanzania.
Nigeria have been crowned U17 world champions five times in the past, 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015.
