Ex-Arsenal Youth Team Skipper Ajayi Proclaims His Burning Desire To Beat Libya Home & Away
Published: October 11, 2018
Former Arsenal U23 captain Semi Ajayi has made it clear that the Super Eagles are targeting six points in their two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya, and has called on the fans to go behind the team, especially in Uyo this Saturday.
The Rotherham United central defender has been retained in the Super Eagles squad to face the North Africans after starring on his debut against Seychelles and impressing for his Championship side last month.
Ajayi does not need to be a mathematician to be fully aware that nine points after four matches in Group E of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers will all but seal their spot in next year's tournament in Cameroon.
''We know the importance of these two matches and are determined to do all we can to secure maximum points to give ourselves the best chance of qualification and make our country proud,'' Ajayi said.
''We ask for the continued support from our fans as their support can make all the difference.''

On Wednesday evening in training, Ajayi impressed in a small-sided game playing for the team with red bibs.
