Ahmed Musa : Super Eagles Are Not Taking Uganda Game Like A Friendly
Published: November 20, 2018
Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa has said that they will not treat Tuesday's international fixture against Uganda like a friendly as preparations for next year's Africa Cup of Nations have started in earnest.
The head-to-head statistics show that the Cranes have the bragging rights over the Super Eagles; winning four, drawing one and losing two of the seven meetings between the two nations.
Asaba fans will have the prospect of seeing the likes of Oghenekaro Etebo, Semi Ajayi, Daniel Akpeyi and Samuel Chukwueze in today's game, while Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo and Leon Balogun will play no part.
''We already qualified for the AFCON for the first time after two editions, '' Musa told reporters at Monday's press conference.
''I think we will start our preparation from tomorrow because we are not taking the game like a friendly game.
''It is important for me because the last time we played a game against them in Uyo, we lost 1-0.

''I know they are a very good team so we will start our preparations from tomorrow.''
Uganda are through to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations thanks to their 1-0 victory over Cape Verde on match day five.
