'I Will Give Semi Ajayi A Hug' - Rotherham United Boss Delighted With Brilliant Eagles Star
Published: November 22, 2018
Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has said that he'll give Semi Ajayi a hug when he returns to the club after international duty with the Super Eagles.
The central defender was an injury time replacement for Alex Iwobi in Nigeria's 1-1 draw against South Africa on Saturday and three days later, he started and completed a game for the first time in his international career vs Uganda.
Ahead of the South Yorkshire derby against Sheffield United, Ajayi is expected to undergo a recovery session today.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Warne told reporters : ''I'm told there are no issues.
''Semi has been traveling so he'll come in and do very, very little today. I'm looking forward to seeing him again, I'll give him a hug. Same with Marek.
''It's brilliant for them and it's brilliant for us. The fact that the lads are competing for us as they are, is getting them recognition from outside the club''.
Ajayi has been a key member of the Millers squad this term, starting and going the distance in all the seventeen matches they've played in the EFL Championship.
