Benfica Right Back Ebuehi Receiving The Same Treatment As GK Uzoho Ahead Of 2019 AFCON
Benfica fullback Tyronne Ebuehi is still in the plans of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations despite being on the sidelines since the start of the season due to a long-term injury.

Ebuehi suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee in pre-season and the earliest date he can return to action is sometime in January 2019, assuming he doesn't suffer a relapse during rehabilitation.

Before the 2018 World Cup, Rohr sent his goalkeeper coach Enrico Pionetti to Europe to work with Uzoho and Ebuehi is getting the same treatment the Deportivo de La Coruña glovesman got.

''We need to get another physical coach not only to work when we are in camp, but also to go to the clubs and work with players who need help,'' Rohr told Sports Editors at Friday's media parley.

''Sometimes our players need individual coaching. Now we have Tyronne Ebuehi, who is coming back from injury, we sent a coach to work with him.

''We did it with Uzoho when he wasn't playing for Deportivo before the World Cup. ''

Ebuehi was involved in all the six friendlies played by the Super Eagles prior to the 2018 World Cup before making his competitive debut against Iceland on June 22.
