Rohr Speaks On Dream Team, CHAN Players' Chances To Play In Super Eagles; Uyo Preference; NNL Clubs Promotion
Head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr on Monday confirmed that some players in the national U-23 side and the home based Eagles will have a chance to play in the senior national team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Speaking on Supersports' Monday Night Football, Rohr responded to tweets from viewers who were keen to know his plans for the tournament  in the Central African country.

"We have to work closely with the coaches of the U-20s and U-23s. We'll pick the best players from the U-23s who will play qualifiers against Libya for the Olympics.''

Nigeria have been seeded to face Libya's U-23 national team as qualifiers for the 2020 football event of the Olympics Games in Tokyo begin in March 2019.

"We also have a CHAN home based Eagles team. I will like to pick players from there like we did when we had the goalkeeper and the defender; Stephen Eze, who now plays in Bulgaria but the CHAN are not playing now," Rohr admitted.

Rohr however cheekily admitted that with 28 teams expected to campaign in the abridged NPFL season after eight teams gain promotion to the top tier.

"No, it's the first time I have seen eight teams promoted to the top tier. But I regret this level of the league. It will be more difficult to watch the league matches now that there will be 28 teams but my assistants like Imama Amapakabo, Alloy Agu and Salisu Yusuf will help me out. Yusuf in the north."

The former Burkina Faso coach also revealed where the Super Eagles players prefer to play their national team games.

"We'll have to camp for the Nations Cup. I don't know where we'll play in March against Seychelles although the players like Uyo because they have the best conditions there but also the warm welcome in Asaba (for the friendly against Uganda) was wonderful for all of us," the onetime Bayern Munich player told Monday Night Football.
