Huddersfield Town's Billing Turns Down Opportunity To Play For Nigeria At 2019 AFCON
Huddersfield Town star Philip Billing has turned down the opportunity to represent the Super Eagles at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next summer.

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has started the groundwork to lure Billing to the Nigeria National Team but the highly-rated central midfielder is dreaming of making his debut for Denmark.

The Terriers long throw specialist confirmed that his agent has held talks with the Nigeria Football Federation but he's not tempted by the prospect of switching his allegiance to the three-time Africa champions.

A Denmark U21 international, Billing is eligible to represent Nigeria because he is yet to receive a senior international cap for the Scandinavians.

''No, I see myself as a Dane, and I also play for the Danish U21 national team. So no, I have not thought of that if I'm to be honest,'' said Billing to Danish newspaper BT.

The 22-year-old Billing has started all the thirteen matches played by Huddersfield Town in the Premier League this season.
