Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Reveals The One Thing He Noticed Upon Entering Rayo Vallecano Stadium
Published: December 05, 2018Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo played a key role as CD Leganes advanced to the next round of the Copa del Rey following their 3-2 win on aggregate against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday night.
The Nigeria international helped Real Madrid loanee Andriy Lunin to post a shutout in the second leg clash (1-0) at Estadio de Vallecas (Madrid).
Omeruo noted that he saw a picture of deceased Super Eagles goalkeeper Wilfred Agbonavbare upon his arrival at the stadium located in the Spanish capital.
Agbonavbare established himself as a legend at Rayo Vallecano after assisting the club return to La Liga after two years of absence and was on the books of Los Franjirrojos for six years.
Writing on social media, Omeruo stated : ''Another win VAMOS LEGANéS.. upon entering the stadium, I came across a picture of Nigerian Ex international WILFRED AGBONAVBARE as it was his former club.... Respect sir.. keep resting in peace Legend''.
A product of New Nigeria Bank, Agbonavbare was a member of the Super Eagles squads to the 1994 AFCON and World Cup and did not concede in the two matches he played for the Flying Eagles at the 1983 U20 World Cup.
