Arsenal's Bukayo Saka Backed To Play For England Over Nigeria By Liverpool Hero
Published: January 12, 2019
Nigeria-eligible Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, 17, has been picked as one of the most exciting young talents in English football by former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, the Premier League legend revisited the 2010 World Cup second round showdown between England and Germany in Bloemfontein, where a young German team thrashed the Three Lions 4-1.
Crouch revealed that the English FA's aim was to have a similar generation of talented young players in future, and nine years after the tournament in South Africa, Crouch expressed his happiness that England have their own special talents emerging, the likes of Hudson-Odoi, Jadon Sancho, Dominic Solanke, Morgan Gibbs-White, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka.
On Bukayo Saka, Crouch stated : ''I am also hearing a lot about a young winger at Arsenal called Bukayo Saka. Those who have watched him frequently say he is very exciting.
''He is only 17 but if he progresses as is hoped, his name will be spoken about much more in the future.''
London-born Saka has recorded four appearances for Arsenal's first team since making his professional debut against Vorskla on November 29, 2018.
