Promising Wing-Back Jordan Aina Making Progress At Chelsea
Published: January 13, 2019Former England U16 international Jordan Aina is hopeful that he can emulate his brother, Super Eagles defender Ola, by making his professional debut for Chelsea's first team in the coming years.
The 17-year-old penned a scholarship with the Stamford Bridge outfit in the close season and was promoted to the U18 team.
He did not get much chances with last season's quadruple winners in the U18 Premier League at the start of the season as James Clark was manager Andy Myers's preferred choice at right back.
In fact, the English-born Nigerian youngster had to wait until November 3 before making his debut in the U18 Premier League against Norwich City.
Since then, Jordan Aina has figured for the Blues U18s in all the matches they've contested in the league with the exception of the 3-2 win against Leicester City
Making the match day squad for Chelsea U23s team in their 2-1 loss at Leicester City last month underlines the progress he has made.
